In his first time driving for TaxSlayer, Chase Elliott captured a win at the PowerShares QQQ 300 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday. Elliott was behind the wheel of the TaxSlayer No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro for racing team JR Motorsports.
“This was a fantastic Saturday to start the weekend in Daytona. It was a great day and we had a really fast Chevrolet Camaro. I have to thank TaxSlayer.com and JR Motorsports for letting me drive,” Elliott said.
Elliott and TaxSlayer both call Georgia home and share a commitment to family roots. The 20-year-old from Dawsonville, Ga. is the son of 1998 NASCAR champion and Hall of Famer Bill Elliott. On Saturday, members of family-owned TaxSlayer were in Daytona to celebrate Elliott’s victory.
During the final lap, Elliott held off a charge by driver Joey Logano to take his fifth career NASCAR Xfinity Series win. It is JR Motorsports’ 27th victory in the Xfinity Series.
